How can clients work with CBTS?

Clients engage CBTS through three engagement models: Consulting & Professional Services, Managed Services, and Technology Procurement. Consulting & Professional Services covers IT advisory and strategy, technology integration and delivery, and talent solutions. Managed Services provides 24x7 monitoring, management, and operational support across the full technology stack — in full-management or co-management formats. Technology Procurement gives clients vendor-agnostic technology procurement backed by relationships with 800+ OEMs, technology makers, and software providers.

Clients can engage through one, two, or all three models. Many CBTS relationships begin with Technology Procurement or a single consulting engagement and grow over time as CBTS becomes embedded in the client’s environment.

Is CBTS just a VAR (value-added reseller)?

No. While CBTS does offer Technology Procurement services, we also deliver Consulting & Professional Services and Managed Services, making us a full-spectrum technology partner rather than a transactional reseller.

Technology Procurement is one of three engagement models CBTS offers. Many clients first encounter CBTS through a technology procurement, and the relationship frequently expands into consulting engagements, staff augmentation, and ongoing managed services as CBTS becomes familiar with their environment.

CBTS has more than 800 vendor partnerships and 2,500+ engineer certifications, giving it the depth to advise on, implement, and operate the technology it helps clients procure.

Can I work with CBTS for just one thing, or do I have to use all three engagement models?

You can engage CBTS through any single model — a one-time procurement, a defined consulting project, or a managed services agreement — without any obligation to use the others.

CBTS is designed to meet clients where they are. Some organizations work with CBTS exclusively for Technology Procurement. Others engage Consulting & Professional Services for a specific initiative and nothing more. The three models are complementary, not bundled. Clients choose what fits their current needs and expand the relationship when it makes sense to do so.

How does CBTS differ from a large systems integrator?

CBTS combines the technical depth and vendor relationships of a large systems integrator with the flexibility and client focus of a specialized partner. Large integrators often provide broad services but can be slow to engage, difficult to reach, and prone to a one-size-fits-all approach. CBTS brings 30+ years of delivery experience and 2,300+ engineer certifications — comparable to much larger firms — while remaining genuinely invested in individual client outcomes. A vendor-agnostic stance means recommendations are driven by what’s right for the client’s environment, not by vendor incentives or internal sales targets.

Many CBTS client relationships span a decade or more, with some extending well beyond that. The depth of these relationships reflects the CBTS approach. Rather than completing a project and moving on, CBTS builds institutional knowledge of each client’s environment over time — which makes every subsequent engagement faster, more accurate, and more valuable.
