Your cloud environment should work as hard as your business

CBTS designs, migrates, and manages hybrid and multi-cloud environments built for security, scale, and whatever comes next.

Cloud made you faster. Now cloud complexity is slowing you down.

Workloads spread, costs climb, and security gaps multiply. What started as a migration becomes an operational burden.

AI that thrives on resilient, trusted foundations

The AI vendor landscape is noisier than ever. Separating signal from noise is consuming your team. When a path forward does emerge, it raises harder questions: who trusts the output, who’s accountable when it’s wrong, and how work gets redesigned around it.

We don’t add to the noise. We start by finding your breakpoints — where decisions stall, data hides, and value quietly leaks. Then we work with you to prioritize, build, and scale what works.

That’s the “forge” in Forge AI. Real strength doesn’t happen despite pressure. It happens when you apply the right expertise at exactly the right point.

CBTS_casestudy_nuclear_Power (1)

National Nuclear Power Facility

Where they started

As one of the nation’s largest nuclear power facilities, and an industry leader in safety, and reliability, this client provides carbon-free electricity to a massive volume of homes. They began partnering with CBTS nearly ten years ago for infrastructure support needs and protection of critical workloads and have continued to rely on our expertise as they grow and evolve.

The foundation we built together

CBTS built a solution to run and support a complex AIX platform alongside Windows and Linux workloads. It runs seamlessly within the CBTS Virtual Data Center (VDC) and with fully integrated managed Disaster Recovery services. CBTS has end-to-end accountability for uptime and recoverability. When disaster strikes, the client isn’t scrambling but executing on a proven plan. In addition, CBTS delivered a production-grade Copilot agent in under 60 days. We absorbed all complexity, from Azure CSP tenant setup and federation to agent design, build, and full test validation. The team designed a custom agent, built a rigorous 24-test-case validation framework, and confirmed performance across six operational categories before handoff.

What they’re building now

CBTS is positioned to partner with this client on their next AI mandate for an enterprise platform engagement, consisting of Azure Landing Zone, additional agentic services, and staff augmentation.

CBTS_Financial _Institution_Casestudy (1)

Large Regional Financial Institution

Where they started

This large financial services organization provides products and services to consumers and businesses nationwide, with headquarters in Cincinnati and nearly 1,000 locations and over 50 million loans serviced to date. The client aimed to enhance its ineffective IT structure and transition to the cloud. However, the company needed to understand its current environment comprehensively in order to accomplish this objective without adding extra resources. The organization sought an expert provider who could assist in defining objectives and ensuring a successful outcome.

The foundation we built together

CBTS assessed the firm’s requirements and assigned a team of experts to carry out the process. Based on its operations and staff familiarity, CBTS engineers found AWS the most efficient platform. They migrated 31 applications to AWS in a year — one every other week — while removing 164 unnecessary apps, 598 end-of-life servers, and 468 databases, as well as reducing 25 OS iterations down to two standard versions. The client reduced its data center footprint by 50%.

What they’re building now

A leaner, more agile cloud environment with the flexibility to fold in or divest business units as the enterprise continues to evolve.

CBTS_SafetyCompliance_Casestudy (1)

Leading Provider of Safety & Compliance Solutions

Where they started

With 35 locations spanning globally, and multiple acquisitions in flight, this client felt constrained by their expiring enterprise agreements while faced with dynamic business growth and accommodating both a remote and hybrid workforce.

The foundation we built together

CBTS began with a consolidated, flexible Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider licensing arrangement, which opened the door for additional opportunities, including: a rebuilt Azure environment, CBTS-managed AWS, improved cloud capabilities with a new AWS agreement, supported integration of acquired companies for cloud optimization and migration to M365, and CBTS-managed Patching as a Service.

What they’re building now

The future-ready, adaptable solutions at international scale results in greater efficiency and streamlined integrations of acquired companies, while reducing cost and flexibility of consolidated Microsoft licensing. They benefit from faster and more transparent support experiences with CBTS SLA’s and a simplified maintenance program to allow additional managed Microsoft services.

What makes the difference

Enterprise scale with real flexibility

Most organizations outgrow their technology partners before they outgrow their technology. CBTS is built to scale with you. We offer the breadth of capability and depth of resources to handle complexity at any size, without the rigidity that usually comes with it.

Deep expertise, reliably delivered

Knowing the answer isn’t enough. CBTS combines technical depth across every major solution area with the processes, people, and accountability to deliver on what we promise. And we do so consistently, not just on the first engagement.

Partnership that goes the distance.

Technology needs change. Business priorities shift. You need a partner that stays by your side when they do. With average client tenure of 15+ years, CBTS is built for the long term. No matter what challenges arise, we stay invested in your business outcomes.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a cloud migration take? Cloud migration timelines vary significantly based on the size and complexity of your environment. A targeted workload migration for a small organization might be completed in a few weeks, while an enterprise-wide migration involving hundreds of applications can span 12 to 18 months or more. CBTS engineers begin every engagement with a thorough assessment of your current environment, application dependencies, and business objectives — and then develop a sequenced, realistic roadmap built around your goals, not a generic schedule. For one financial services client, our team migrated 31 applications in a single year, averaging one application every two weeks, while simultaneously removing more than 160 unnecessary applications and cutting the client’'s data center footprint in half.
Is the cloud secure?

Yes. When its designed with security in mind from the start. In fact, a well-architected cloud environment can be more secure than traditional on-premises or legacy infrastructure, because modern cloud platforms offer built-in controls, continuous monitoring, and automated policy enforcement that are difficult and expensive to replicate on-premises. The risks typically arise not from the cloud itself, but from poor configuration, unmanaged access, or security thats bolted on after the fact. CBTS security professionals work alongside our cloud engineers throughout every engagement — conducting security assessments, implementing identity and access controls, enabling 24x7 monitoring with AI-assisted threat detection, and ensuring compliance requirements are addressed before go-live. Security isnt a separate workstream; it’s embedded at every layer.

What's the difference between public, private, and hybrid cloud?

Public cloud, including platforms like AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, delivers compute, storage, and services over shared infrastructure on a pay-as-you-go basis. It’s well suited for development environments, scalable applications, and workloads with variable demand. Private cloud uses dedicated infrastructure, either in a colocation facility or on-premises, and is typically chosen for workloads with strict regulatory, security, or latency requirements. Hybrid cloud combines both models, allowing organizations to run sensitive or high-performance workloads on private infrastructure while leveraging public cloud for scale, flexibility, and cost efficiency. Most enterprises — 89% according to Flexeras 2025 State of the Cloud Report — now operate in hybrid or multi-cloud environments. CBTS helps organizations assess each workload and determine the right placement, then designs, builds, and manages the resulting environment as a cohesive whole.

Can our in-house IT staff handle the transition to cloud?

It’s possible, but cloud environments are increasingly complex to manage. Internal teams stretched across day-to-day operations rarely have the bandwidth or specialized certifications to stay ahead of evolving best practices, cost optimization, and security threats. The Flexera 2025 State of the Cloud Report found that 60% of organizations now rely on managed service providers to help manage cloud complexity and spending — and that an average of 27% of cloud spend is wasted due to idle resources and misconfigurations. CBTS cloud engineers are AWS-certified (85+ certifications), Azure-accredited (180+ individuals), and maintain HPE Triple Platinum Plus status. We can supplement your team as much or as little as you need, — from a one-time migration and handoff to full ongoing management of your cloud environment.

How much does cloud migration cost?

Cloud migration costs depend on the scope of your environment, the complexity of your applications, the platforms you’re migrating to, and the level of ongoing management you require. While every engagement is scoped individually, organizations that migrate and modernize workloads strategically (— rather than simply “lifting and shifting”) — typically see infrastructure cost reductions of 20% to 40%, according to McKinsey research. One of the most significant cost factors isn’t the migration itself, but what comes after. Unmanaged cloud environments frequently accumulate waste through idle resources, over-provisioned instances, and duplicate services. CBTS provides transparent scoping and pricing upfront, and our managed cloud services are designed to actively control costs, not just maintain the environment.

What cloud platforms does CBTS support?

CBTS engineers design and manage environments across Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) as well as HPE and hybrid infrastructure. We hold 85+ AWS certifications and maintain AWS Partner status; 180+ Microsoft Azure-accredited individuals and Microsoft Solutions Partner designation; and HPE Triple Platinum Plus status, the highest tier in the HPE Partner Ready Vantage Program. Our platform-agnostic assessment approach means we recommend the right platform for each workload rather than defaulting to a single vendor. What’s more, we manage multi-cloud environments as a unified whole, so your team isn’t left coordinating between multiple providers.
